I decided that today I would commemorate the 911 tragedy by creating a 911 memorial poster. This event should never have happened in the first place, and not ever be repeated. Sadly the world is filled with hate and people who just can’t learn from history.
I set out to create a visual that used a typographical play on the word ‘nine’ instead of the numeral, which contains the same letters as the German word for ‘no’, namely, NEIN! I also tried to make use of the American flag colours in a very muted and subtle manner. I am sure that the German reference will also conjure up another tragedy that this world will never forget, yet will never learn from either.
